On June 3, 2008, Young Jeezy cut “My President,” a tribute to then-presidential nominee Barack Obama. At last night’s White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner, Obama sent some love the rapper’s way, working his name into a comedy routine about his plans for the next four years.
“In my first term I sang Al Green,” Obama said (video below). “In my second term, I’m going with Young Jeezy.”
“Michelle’s like, ‘Yeah!’” he added, earning big laughs from the audience and a grin from the first lady. “I sing that to her sometimes.”

The Internet is great for fostering conspiracy theories, and toward the end of last year, Beyonce found herself at the heart of a real whopper. According to some, the R&B songstress was faking her pregnancy — i.e. rocking a prosthetic bump to hide the fact that she and hubby Jay-Z were using a surrogate to carry their first child. The singer was well aware of the rumors, and nearly four months after the birth of her daughter, Blue Ivy, she’s opening up about they made her feel.
“That was crazy,” Beyonce said in an interview with People magazine. “It wasn’t hurtful. It was just crazy.”

NEW YORK (AP) – Just before Flo Rida released his third album, almost two million fans purchased the first single “Club Can’t Handle Me,” helping the rapper snag yet another Top 10 hit.
But in its first week out, only 11,000 people bought the 8-song EP – “Only One Flo Part 1″ – making its debut measly at No. 107 on the Billboard charts. And in nearly two years, the album has only sold 62,000 units, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
Flo Rida’s experience in 2010 is being repeated again and again in today’s pop scene. He’s just one of many acts who suffer from an imbalance: They have a multitude of hits, but anemic album sales.
Years ago, a hit song was usually accompanied by a gold or platinum album, and multiple hits meant multiplatinum albums. But times have changed.

Nicki Minaj lashed out at music video website Vevo Thursday night (April 26) for failing to feature her “Starships” video in a timely manner after it premiered on MTV. However, Vevo fired back at the Young Money rap star, claiming her “people” did not send the visuals.
When her legion of Barbz informed her via Twitter that the Anthony Mandler-directed video was nowhere to be found on Vevo, Minaj insisted the site had the final product and was in the process of uploading it. Vevo joined in the conversation on the social networking site and shot down the Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded creator’s claims, stating that she “better talk to your label then” because they had no video.
The “Starships” video has since been posted to the Vevo site but not before Nicki Minaj let the company know “somebody gettin’ fired” over the miscommunication.
Check out the entire conversation below.

Diddy introduced the Ohio native in front of the packed house before he went into his track “Invincible” featuring Ester Dean. The latter wasn’t in attendance and singer Skylar Grey took her place, crooning through the chorus.
